The team are presented the trophy by Lisa Chess from Mumbles Yacht Club.
This year’s Osprey National Championships have just concluded at Mumbles Yacht Club in Swansea Bay where Adam Bowers and DJ Edwards triumphed over the current establishment to win the event with consistent scores in very tricky conditions. Adam and DJ have a long history in the class but have not sailed together competitively in the wooden wonder for 20 years,
As part of the Championships there has been an annual prize for the top club team consisting of 3 nominated crews, this year Castle Cove was represented by Adam and DJ, Terry Curtis and Pete Greig and Kevin Francis and Phil Male.
Each crew managed to perform well to record overall finishes of 1st,2nd and 6th meaning that for the first time in a long while Poole were knocked off the top spot.
This will be the first time that Castle Cove has won the cup which has been awarded for many years and shows yet again how our club is represented away from home, coming hot off the heels of Alex Knights victory in the Musto Skiff Nationals, the name Castle Cove is becoming synonymous with success.
